About The SAT I Practice Tests
ABOUT OUR ONLINE SAT I

Practice test taking is essential to any successful course of test preparation; however, our online tests do much more than simply offer students practice. Our test analysis and score report service provides valuable and specific insight into each student’s independent performance. Our score report furnishes students with the following information:
  • A raw score for The Critical Reading, the Math, and the Writing Sections
  • A converted score for each of these sections on a 200-800 scale
  • A projected percentile ranking for the Critical Reading and Math sections
  • An analysis per section of the number of answers correct/incorrect/omitted
  • A breakdown of those questions into types: sentence completions, critical reading for long and short passages, multiple-choice math, free-response math, identifying sentence errors, improving sentences, improving paragraphs
  • A breakdown of those types into subtypes, e.g., geometry, algebra, arithmetic, subject/verb agreement, pronoun agreement, etc.
  • An analysis of each question rated by difficulty on a scale from 1-5 (with 5 as the most difficult).
  • A detailed written analysis of each student’s essay response for those students who take the Writing section of the SAT I
  • A list of solutions with detailed explanations for all questions answered incorrectly
  • A record of how much time a student spent between beginning a section and submitting his or her answers; this timing data will help students analyze their performance under time constraint

Through our detailed score report, students can draw meaningful inferences about their performances. They can determine whether the majority of their errors result from careless mistakes on easy to medium difficulty questions or whether they need to study more sophisticated materials to score the most difficult questions. They will also be able to study trends in their responses to certain specific question types in the math and the grammar while observing the effect of timing on their performances. If a student consistently misses questions toward the end of each section, then that student needs to work on endurance training and timed drilling. Our essay graders will also help students address issues of structure, evidence, and argument in order to improve the logic and rhetoric of their expository prose.

We have designed our service to provide students with a more thorough and exhaustive evaluation than any other online SAT I test provides. Below are tables detailing the contents and format of our online full-length and reduced-length SAT I tests:

ABOUT OUR ONLINE WRITING PROGRAM

One of the more challenging aspects of the SAT I is its grammar and essay requirement. For those students who have never taken grammar courses or expository essay writing classes, this portion of the test can be daunting. Yet, even the very best student writers can benefit from a program that deepens their understanding of the technical rules of grammar and enhances their mastery of logic and rhetoric in essay composition.

To that end, we have created three online full-length SAT I Writing sections, each with an essay writing sample. Students should space out the administration of each test, leaving approximately a week for the test to be graded and then another week to study closely the detailed analysis, grammar solution texts, and extensive essay commentary we provide. Students will then log back in, complete the second test, review the results thoroughly, and then complete the third test approximately a week after receiving the results from the second. The third and final test exposure should then be a much more focused, effective and strategic effort.

After reviewing the complete results—the scores, solution texts, and essay analysis—from these three Writing test sections, students will have a clear sense of the range of grammar knowledge required on the SAT I and a very thorough understanding of the particular genre of expository essay writing that the test demands. Moreover, students will have acquired a confident knowledge in a core set of grammar rules essential to effective proofreading and obtained a more rigorous understanding of the power of logic and rhetoric in constructing cogent arguments. Below is a table detailing the contents and format of each one of our three online SAT I Writing sections:
